August 20, 2025 I was really reluctant to write this letter, but a second email from Cannon encouraging me to tell about my experience finally got me to send this. This will be the 4th time that I have sent an unsatisfactory review to Cannon Motors. This consists of 2 episodes at Cannon Motors in Oxford, MS in 2023 and this is my 2nd unsatisfactory review for Cannon Motors in West Point. I was not going to write this time as I was afraid that I would look like a chronic malcontent with my history of reviews. I assure you that I am a reasonable person and not hard to get along with. However, I am beginning to think that I am truly cursed when it comes to dealing with Cannon Motors. Concerning my most recent visit to Cannon Motors in West Point: I have around 58,000 miles on my 2021 Suburban and I felt that it was time for transmission service (a new filter and replacing the fluid that comes out with removal of the transmission pan) I have a lift in my garage and do most auto maintenance myself. All indications were that the exhaust pipes would have to be disconnected from the exhaust manifolds in order to remove the transmission pan. This seemed to be more involved than I wanted to do, so I decided to call Cannon Motors in West Point to see what it would cost to have this done and if it would be more practical for me to have their service department do this. On or around August 6, I talked to a lady in the service department by phone and described what I needed as I did in the previous paragraph. I gave her the make and model of the vehicle and told her exactly what I needed. I asked what this would cost. She paused for a bit, I presume to look it up, and said $320. I thought that sounded better than doing it myself and I told her that I would like to have that done. I told her that I was flexible and I asked if it would be possible for me to set up a time where I could just wait while this was done. She said “yes” and gave me a time of 8 am Friday, August 15. I agreed to all of that and so that there was no room for error, I repeated, “8 o’clock Friday, August 15 and it will cost $320.” She said “yes.” I arrived that Friday at that time, went into the service department and met a lady there at the desk. She asked, “What can I do for you?” I said, “I have an appointment for transmission service at 8 o’clock and I was told it would be $320.” I told her the key was in the vehicle and I went to the waiting area. I also told her for the first time that I had a transmission filter and transmission pan gasket with me. I had already purchased them a couple of weeks earlier when I was considering doing it myself, so I thought I might get out for less than $320. Around 12:15, a different lady came into the waiting area to get me and took me to the service desk. She said, “With tax and using a credit card, that comes to $502. I said that I was told more than once that my fee would be $320. She said something like, “Well there were 8 quarts of fluid and some other shop expenses.” I told her that I realized all of that, but I was told more than once that it would be $320. She offered to call the other lady who was at lunch, but I didn’t really see the point in that or that it would change anything. I politely but unequivocably expressed my displeasure, paid the bill and left. I came to Cannon Motors a few years ago because I had a friend who was at another GM dealership who recommended Cannon to me. I really want to do business with Cannon. I truly hope that I am just having a run of bad luck with Cannon because as I said earlier, I seem to be cursed in my dealings with Cannon Motors. In each of my 4 unsatisfactory encounters, I have tried afterward to objectively dissect and evaluate what happened and why it happened. I really have to lay the blame with the dealership each time.

From start to finish, the dealership was professional. They treated me like family and went above and beyond to get me into a new suv.

Everything went smoothly dropping off my car and they kept me informed while it was being serviced. There was a moment when I misunderstood the fee for services by adding another '0' on the end, but Jessica was great at clearing things up! Nice experience overall.

Everything was easy. I saw the truck I wanted at another dealership. Chris and I have been very good friends since high school so I told him what I wanted and he went and got it. Chad handled the delivery of the deal and explained things very well. Great place to do business.
